dark spot correctors

It happened....I got those nasty dark spots due to pregnancy.  I've been told they'll eventually go away but I hate them and I'm too impatient to wait.  I've been looking at dark spot correctors and now my head hurts.  They all claim to do the same thing.....get rid of your dark spots.  But do they really work?  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
